ERROYL is a watch brand coming from Australia with some high quality and affordable watches and which is not a stranger for Watchisthis?! as we interviewed Wes Knight, the ERROYL CEO, for the Summer 2016 edition of the Magazine. In this one we also had the opportunity to present and review their Regent Collection.
The ERROYL team released this year a new collection under the name of « The Duke » in which you’ll find the Hawker, Melrose and Oskar. Three watches designed and manufactured with a special attention to details, which at the end, are really elegant and suitable for any situation or environment.
The 133 grams Duke timepieces are presented in a 39mm diameter polished side and brushed surfaces stainless steel case with 11 mm thickness, if the double domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflexive coating is excluded. The see-through case-back with sapphire crystal is mounted on the case with six screws, revealing this way the beauty of the Swiss movement. The elegant case features a water resistance of 10 atm. Another touch of elegance is the shiny onion crown featuring the ERROYL logo on a sandblasted background.
The watch’s dial comes in three color variants: the Duke Oskar with a white background, black printed indexes and Arabic numerals with luminescent hours’ indexes placed on the inner bezel; the Hawker features a black background with luminescent Arabic numerals indexes and white printed scale and indexes; the Melrose has a gun-metal grey face and the same luminescent Arabic numerals as the Hawker. The dials have a delicate concentric circular textured guilloche center and a partial sunray effect with sculptural hour and minutes dauphine hands filled with BGW9 luminescent. The central seconds hand has the same luminescent filling, creating a beautiful day contrast and a beautiful night luminescence.
The Duke collection features a small and refined date window at 6 o’clock with white background for the Oskar and black background for the Hawker and Melrose.
The ERROYL Duke timepieces are powered by the very well known and robust Swiss calibre ETA2824-2: an automatic movement with ball bearing rotor decorated with Côtes de Genève (Geneva Waves) and the company’s logo. The ETA2824-2 has 25 jewels, a 4Hz beating heart or 28,800vph with ETACHRON regulator system and regulator corrector offering a power reserve of 40 hours. The movement features hours, minutes and sweep seconds with stop seconds device for precise setting and instant date corrector.
The watches are equipped with a 20mm wide jubilee bracelet which is customized with ERROYL logo on the double folding butterfly clasp which is made of steel with polished and brushed elements increasing the refinement and the overall resistance to scratches. The exterior and the central links are brushed, these being the most prone to scratches and even if the scratches occur, they are not that visible on the brushed surfaces. Of course the Duke watches can be worn with a leather strap… It all depends on your preference.
The Duke collection’s watches, with a two year manufacturer’s warranty, are hand assembled and checked to fulfil the standards. The timepieces are presented in a luxury wooden box with a certificate of authenticity, booklet and a microfiber cloth for cleaning.
They come with a price tag of $849AUD/$625USD/€575EUR till 31th May, $899AUD from 1st-30th June, and then the recommended retail price will be $999AUD.
