The Mühle ProMare is a very serious watch for those who lead an active life (and who doesn’t in today’s world?). Recently the watch company from Glashütte introduced the ProMare Chronograph, on which we reported here, but now its time for yet another addition to the line-up: the ProMare Lady.
With a diameter of 39 mm and a height of 10.6 mm the ProMare Lady is a substantial ladies watch. But in a time where many ladies prefer to even wear men’s watches, it makes absolute sense. Also because the ProMare wasn’t designed to be a fashion statement, but more so to accompany a lady through everyday life. But that doesn’t mean that the ProMare is completely without sense of style or fashion. The dial is white mother-of-pearl, which is framed by a bezel of white ceramic. The indices at the 3, 6, 9 and 12 hours on the dial can also be replaced with diamonds.
What we particularly like about the ProMare lady, is that is comes with an automatic movement. Now Sellita caliber SW200 does not get many watch enthusiasts excited, but Mühle serves up this movement with a twist. That twist is the patented woodpecker neck regulation, that was developed by Mühle-Glashütte. It allows for additional shock resistance, and makes it better compatible with every day life. More about the woodpecker neck regulation you can find here.
Since early 2016, Mühle-Glashütte has been sponsoring two athletes, Annika Bochmann and Marlene Steinherr, who are sailing in the 470 class for the German Sailing Association. They have successfully qualified themselves for the Olympic’s in Rio de Janeiro, where they hope to win a medal. They will do so with a ProMare Lady on their wrist, which they got presented at their official send-off party in Berlin. For when you are not an Olympian you can obtain a ProMare Lady for £1.580,00 GBP on a cool strap that combines white leather with black rubber, and for £1.670,00 GBP you get the watch on a stainless steel bracelet.
