The Duobox Classic Chronometer collection was officially revealed in December 2016 and it was a directly a great success.
It’s the start of a new school year here, and Sebastien Muller (owner of the brand) decided to propose us a new version of the already iconic Duobox.
This time the Duobox adorns the Havana style with brown hues whose finish is done using a sunshine pattern.
One may say this colour reminds them of Havana’s cigars, some other may compare it to the rich colour of a whisky or a bourbon. Brellum’s team thinks that it reminds correctly the beautiful colours of Jura’s forest in autumn.
For this piece the ingredients are still the same than for the other versions: a high-performance movement, a vintage design, quality finishes, the whole Swiss Made and made with great passion.
So for sure, the color of the dial is the only change in this new watch. The rest remains the same than for all Duobox.
An excellent executed watch with a 316L stainless steel case (surgical steel that guarantees robustness and no issue for people with Nickel allergies) with a diameter of 41.80mm and a total thickness of 16.20mm. The satin brushed finishes with beveled and polished lugs and the highly polished bezel with a mounted “box type” sapphire with anti-reflective treatment, together with the slender, classical shape make the case an excellent eye catcher.
The case-back also comes with “box type” sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment, which is not often met in this price category. The case-back is fixed with 6 screws and it is nicely built with a lot of small details: brand and watch name, water resistance (50m/5atm – enough since it is not intended to be a dive watch) and the watch number – the number is very important because there will be produced only 299 Brellum watches per year.
The heart that beats inside the Duobox Chronometer is the Valjoux 7750 automatic movement. Developed in the 70s and elevated since to the rank of icon of Swiss watchmaking, it is known for its qualities of precision and robustness. Decorated with care it is surmounted by the BRELLUM oscillating weight (rotor) which is treated with the same delicacy. The movement is officially certified Chronometer by the COSC, an independent certification organism that delivers an individual chronometry certificate with each BRELLUM watch.
The Duobox Classic Havana is available at 2,390 CHF on a new leather bracelet which will emphasize its patina over time or priced at 2,450 CHF on a steel bracelet with Milanese mesh. They are already available on their webshop – Click HERE.
Well as always this Duobox is a very well executed watch that will please all watch aficionados.
